Support

Select text in any app, then press Command–Option–Slash or choose Speak Selection from the menu bar.

Ways to listen

• Press Command–Option–Slash to speak the current selection.
• Press Command–Option–Semicolon to speak the clipboard.
• Choose Speak Selection from the menu bar.
• Use Services → Speak Selection from a supported app's context menu.

Accessibility permission

The global hotkey and menu bar selection reader may require Accessibility permission. The Services action receives selected text directly from macOS and should work without that permission.

Voices

Kokoro voices are included for free local use. ElevenLabs and Cartesia are optional; connect your own API key in Settings → Cloud Providers.
